[Hand to hand] A long, long journey continues until a piece of clothing is completed. The first step is to sew the base garment. The clothes are sewn with a sewing machine in a small workshop. Since there are many times when the power goes out, the sewing process is carried out steadily with a footstep. Next, the block prints that will serve as the base for the hand embroidery are pressed. Carving such delicate patterns is also a job that is left entirely to the skill of the human hand. In a room as small as 1 or 2 tatami mats, with blocks lining the walls, the block presses continue. Next, the women of the embroidery village receive the blocks. It takes several days to embroider a piece of clothing. After that, the clothes are washed, inspected, and so on. From hand to hand, from hand to hand. We hope that the daily life of the final recipient will be enriched with joy. [Comfort of air] Soft cotton gauze fabric that softly contains air. 「ゆったりシルエット」
ドロップショルダーでお作りしているのが、このリラックス感を生み出すポイント。
するりと落ちていくような肩のラインが魅力です。
実は袖もさりげなく丸みを帯びた、バルーン仕様に。
風をふんわり含んだような、やわらかな印象が生まれました。
「ディテールで美しいバランスを」
顔まわりをすっきりと見せるキーネックを採用しました。

「何の花だろう」
両袖や背中にはいった可憐な花刺繍。
現地の作り手に、インドの花をモチーフにしてもらいました。
何の花でしょう。どんな色をしてるのでしょうか。
なんだか身近な花にも見えるし、まだ目にしたことのない花なのかもしれない。
一つのモチーフから、そんな楽しい想像をしていただけたら嬉しいです。
インドの伝統文化である「チカン刺繍」は、村の女性たちが一針一針、丁寧に縫い上げてくれたもの。
彼女たちの仕事場は、それぞれの住居です。
家事や子育てなど、生活が密接にある場所で、子どもたちやヤギに見守られながら日々仕事をしています。
「手から手へ」
一枚の服が出来上がるまで、長い長い旅が続きます。
まずはベースとなるお洋服を縫い上げるところから。
小さな工房にて、ミシンで縫製をしていきます。
停電が起こるときも多いので、その際は足踏みでカタカタと地道に進めていくそうです。
次に手刺繍の下絵となるブロックプリントを押していきます。
こんな繊細な模様を彫っていくのも、すべて人の手が成す技にゆだねられた仕事です。
壁一面にブロックが並ぶ、1,2畳くらいの狭さの部屋で、ひたすらブロックを押し続けます。
そして次に受け取るのは、刺繍村の女性たち。
一枚の服の刺繍を仕上げるために、数日はかかるそう。
そのあとも洗濯や検品など、たくさんの人を介して、一枚の服は出来上がります。
手から手へ、手から手へ。
その一枚を最後に受け取る誰かの日常が、楽しく豊かになることを願って。

空気をふんわり含んだ、柔らかなコットンガーゼ生地。
生地が2枚に重なった間にできる空気の層で保温性にも優れ、エアコンや汗による冷えから体を守ってくれます。

暑いインドでは珍しい生地のため、特注して織ってもらっているシリーズ。
原始的なタイプの織機を使うことで、機械織りの生地なのに、ふっくら柔らかい肌触りをお楽しみいただけます。
