オーガニックコットン100％のノースリーブは、真夏に1枚は持っておきたいアイテム。
裾にかけて広がるシルエットが、日常を少しドラマティックなものにしてくれるはず。
シンプルだけど、なんだか特別。そんな一枚を目指しました。
「タックの仕掛け」
サイドのマチにタックを仕込んだことで、ひらりとたなびくシルエットが出来上がります。
生地にドレープが生まれ、風を受け止めてより自然に広がるAラインに。
さらに裾は前後差をつけて、こなれ感あるラインを叶えました。
「一枚でサマになる」
動きあるトップスは一枚でサマになるので、日々のワードローブの支え役になるはず。
大人が楽しめるノースリーブをという思いから、ネックラインは浅めにして凛々しい印象に。
後ろのボタン仕様や、ボディ部分の裏地など、日々着まわす一枚としての機能性も大切にしました。
「インドで愛される草花」
フロントの裾部分には、インドの草花モチーフで刺繍をほどこしました。
さりげない存在感なので、カジュアルにもきれいめスタイルにも溶け込んでくれます。
インドの伝統文化である「チカン刺繍」は、村の女性たちが一針一針、丁寧に縫い上げてくれたもの。
彼女たちの仕事場は、それぞれの住居です。
家事や子育てなど、生活が密接にある場所で、子どもたちやヤギに見守られながら日々仕事をしています。
「手から手へ」
一枚の服が出来上がるまで、長い長い旅が続きます。
まずはベースとなるお洋服を縫い上げるところから。
小さな工房にて、ミシンで縫製をしていきます。
停電が起こるときも多いので、その際は足踏みでカタカタと地道に進めていくそうです。
次に手刺繍の下絵となるブロックプリントを押していきます。
そして次に受け取るのは、刺繍村の女性たち。
一枚の服の刺繍を仕上げるために、数日はかかるそう。
そのあとも洗濯や検品など、たくさんの人を介して、一枚の服は出来上がります。
手から手へ、手から手へ。
その一枚を最後に受け取る誰かの日常が、楽しく豊かになることを願って。
