The simple design makes the clean neckline of the stand collar and the quality of the fabric stand out even more. The wrists are stylishly tucked into the sleeves, which come into view at a moment's notice. The hem has a slit, a front-to-back difference, and a gently curved design. You can also enjoy the color variation with the bottoms peeking through the gap. The back has a vertical seam and tucks under the yoke. It is a beautiful back view that makes you want to keep your back straight. Of course, there are pockets on both sides. By sewing the inner fabric of the pockets, the pockets are designed so that they do not get in the way when the garment is worn. From the outside, the pockets are casually accented. 一枚は持っておきたい、スタンドカラーのベーシックなワンピース。
さらっとワンピースとしても、春先のアウター代わりに着ても重宝する一枚です。
「ベーシックだからこそのこだわり」
前身頃に切り替えのないシンプルなデザイン。
シンプルだからこそスタンドカラーのすっきりした首元や、生地の良さがより際立ちます。
ふとしたタイミングで視界に入る手首には、ちょっとお洒落なタック入り。
裾にはスリットと、前後差とゆるやかなカーブのあるデザイン。
隙間からのぞくボトムスとの色のメリハリをつけて楽しむのもいいですね。
背中には縦に切り替えと、ヨークの下にタックが入っています。
背筋をすっと伸ばしていたくなる、美しい後ろ姿です。
もちろん、両脇にはポケットが。
ポケットの内布を縫い付けることで、羽織ったときにポケットの布が邪魔をしないデザインに。
外からみるとさり気ないアクセントになっています。
「手作りのボタンを巡る」
ボタンもネパールで手づくりされたもの。
食用になったバッファロー＝水牛の骨で出来ており、最後まで大切に使うための現地の工夫です。
カトマンズ郊外のナイカップという地域に、小さなボタン工場があります。
とてものどかなこの村。
以前デザイナーが訪れたときには、近くのグラウンドで中学生と小学生とヤギが一緒にボールを追いかけていました。
工場はとても小さな場所で、手元の電気くらいしかありません。
現地でボタンの工房というと、これくらいの作業場が一般的だそうです。
一つ一つ形をくりぬき、表面を滑らかにしていく作業。
職人技がひかる、とても根気のいる手仕事です。
たった数センチの小さなパーツにも、誰かが長く長く続けてきた大切な営みが宿っているのですね。

女性たちの自立、雇用フェアトレードNGOの代表として20年以上
誠実さと深い情熱を携えた仲間とともに奔走する毎日だったといいます。
政情が不安定なときや、ネパールの大地震やエネルギー不足。
そして数年前に起きた新型コロナウイルスによるパンデミックの時も。
「ものづくりを止めてはいけない」
生きるための金銭面もあるけれど、先の見えない状況で
自分たちの気持ちを止めてしまうことの怖さを感じていたというスニルさん。
春夏、秋冬こうして途切れることなく、マハグチの服に袖を通せていることは
奇跡ではなく、人の力そのものなんだと感じます。
