Description
| The beloved collection that Lautrec kept with him until the end of his life. After his death, his private collection, which Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901) never wanted to part with during his lifetime, was taken over by Maurice Joyan, the gallery owner who was his best friend and the person who understood him the most, and was spared from being lost. The collection included his most famous lithographs and posters, rare prints, dinner menus, and other rare works never seen anywhere else. The book includes 136 works depicting Paris and the women that Lautrec loved throughout his life, including [Natural History], [The Women], [Roy*Fuller], and [Yvette*Guilbert]. The delicate and humorous strokes of Lautrec's eye convey a new aspect and charm of the man known as a poster painter. Included are two stories written by novelist Erika Kobayashi about Lautrec, "Inside Her Belly" and "Around Her Waist. Japanese and English |
