| This warm and gentle Kohiki vessel has a beautiful relief of leaves and a pink mottled pattern. Gohonde is not an intentional coloring, but rather a coloring that occurs on the vessel itself. It is a type of change in the kiln (yohen). Since no two pieces will have the same pattern, please enjoy the encounter with the unique character of each piece. [Characteristics of Gohonde There are many ways to fire pottery, and the firing season and weather also affect the firing process. When Kohonte is fired by a method called "reduction firing," in which the kiln is filled with less oxygen during the firing process, the iron content of the clay affects the pink mottled patterns. This is called gohonte. This is one of the techniques loved by many tea masters since the Azuchi-Momoyama period. The appearance of mottled patterns due to kiln changes is not known until after firing, and the color varies from a lot of mottled patterns to a little mottled patterns. 御本手（ごほんで）は意図的に色をつけたものではなく、器自身が自ら発色したものです。窯の中の変化「窯変（ようへん）」の一種です。

【御本手（ごほんで）の特徴】
器の焼成の仕方は色々あり、焼成する季節や天気にも影響を受けます。焼成中酸素を窯の中にあまり送り込まないで焼成する「還元焼成」という方法で粉引を焼成すると、粘土からの鉄分の影響を受け、ピンク色の斑文が出現します。これを御本手と呼びます。
安土桃山時代から多くの茶人に愛されてきた技法のひとつです。窯変による斑文の出方は焼成してみないと判らず、多くある場合・少なめの場合と色合いは様々に焼き上がります。御本手の特徴としてお楽しみください。
