Description
This unique ceramic jug has a tulip pattern. Can be used as a vase. *WHY rice? Rice is a grain that is consumed by people in many countries and is important in supporting their lives. We named our brand "rice" with the meaning that we want to be a brand that is needed by many people and helps their lives in the same way as "rice". Rice is especially important in third world countries. In Madagascar, where raffia baskets are actually produced, rice is provided to the producers as part of their salary. *BUSINESS WITH A The most important thing for rice is "respect for all the people involved in our products". Many of our products are produced by workers in third world countries such as Thailand and Madagascar, and we support the independence of the producers by respecting [prohibition of child labor], [fair compensation], and [better working environment]. In 2002, the company became the first Scandinavian company to receive SA8000(*1) certification in recognition of its ethical working conditions. *SA8000 is an international standard that recommends companies develop, maintain, and apply appropriate working conditions. Through these efforts, the pop and colorful colors and attractive designs of our products are the backdrop of our efforts to promote fair trade by outsourcing much of our manufacturing to developing countries such as Thailand, India, and Madagascar. We also participate in the United Nations Global Compact (*2) and continue to reflect and practice the principles of human rights, labor standards, the environment, and anti-corruption in our corporate policies. *2: The United Nations Global* Compact (UNGC) is a voluntary initiative in which each company* organization participates in the creation of a global framework to act as a good corporate citizen and achieve sustainable growth by exercising responsible and creative leadership. *rice UP PROJECTS With the motto [No one can help everyone, but everyone can help someone], rice is committed to a variety of social contribution activities, including participation in aid and development assistance projects and philanthropic activities not only in third world countries but also around the world. As one of our efforts, we have established a system to donate a large portion of the proceeds from the sales of our products to third world countries, which we can contribute to society by purchasing our products. |
