In 1985, it was designated as a traditional craft of Kagawa Prefecture. It has a unique and distinctive expression, and the black fur that stretches from the eyebrows through the cheeks to the mouth looks more like a human face than a tiger. The papier-mâché tiger is also said to bring good luck [to go for a thousand miles and return for a thousand miles], and is displayed to wish for the healthy growth of children. *Personal differences may occur due to the handmade work of the craftsman.
