| *Ceramic incense burner from Nepal This incense burner is made of fired earthenware with traditional coloring. Most incense holders are made of wood, but this incense holder is unusually made of ceramic. A Buddhist motif design, typical of Nepal, is placed in the center, creating a solemn atmosphere. The motif of this incense holder is a vajra, a vajra used in Buddhist rituals. It is believed to be a Dharma tool that represents the Buddha's teaching to destroy afflictions and lead to enlightenment. In Tibet, it is called [dorje]. *This incense burner is specially designed for burning Indian incense and thick Tibetan incense. Since it is a special incense burner, you can easily insert and enjoy Nepalese incense that cannot stand up in a normal incense burner. Tibetan incense can be inserted into the large hole in the center, and regular Indian incense can be inserted into the four smaller holes around it. It is very convenient to use both types of incense in one incense holder. All of these incense holders are individually handmade by Nepalese. The colorful hand painted paint is very attractive. |

このお香立ては、土を焼き固めた陶器に、伝統的な彩色を施したお香立てです。お香立てといえば木製が多いのですが、このお香立ては珍しく陶器製です。
ネパールらしく仏教をモチーフにしたデザインが中央に配置されており、厳かな雰囲気を醸し出しています。
このお香立てのモチーフは仏教の儀式で使われる金剛杵、ヴァジュラ。仏の教えが煩悩を滅ぼして悟りに導く様を法具化したものとされます。チベットでは「ドルジェ」と呼ばれています。
■2種類のお香が楽しめますインド香とちょっと太いチベット香を焚くために作られた専用のお香立てです。専用のお香たてですので、通常のお香立てでは立たないネパール香を簡単に挿し、楽しむ事が出来ます。
中心の大きな穴には、チベット香を、周りの小さな4つの穴には、いつものインド香を挿して使うことができます。
1つのお香立てで、どちらのお香も使えるのでとっても便利です。このお香たては全部一品一品がネパール人の手作り。カラフルな手塗りのペイントが魅力的です。
