■クムクムパウダーって？
インドに行くと、女性の額の上に赤い印が付いていることに気が付きます。これは通常はビンディと呼ばれ、シールタイプになっていてつけたり剥がしたり出来るファッションアイテムなのですが、このビンディの発祥がクムクムと呼ばれるもの。
インドのお寺に行くと、額に白や赤の粉でポチっと印を付けられ、その上にお米を貼られたりした人も多いと思います。これがクムクムなのですね。クムクムとは、お祭りや宗教儀式で使われる色粉の事を指し、伝統的にはターメリックやサフランで作られていました。
