Description
| In Tibet, Nepal, the North Indian region, etc., there is a five-colored flag called a talchow that stands out from the rest of the characteristic landscape. These flags have sutras written on them, and each time the flag is displayed and flutters in the wind, it means that a sutra has been recited. The order of the five colors is blue*white*red*green*yellow, each representing the five elements of heaven*wind*fire*water*earth. These flags, which to our eyes look colorful and beautifully decorated, must have a good reason, and they must represent the prayers of the Himalayan people, who live their entire lives in accordance with their religion. This talchow is made of nylon, made in Nepal, with a horse pattern and a sutra printed on each piece. The one with this wind horse on it is especially called a lunta. There are 25 flags sewn onto a single cord, and depending on how they are secured, they may be used in a variety of places.
