Made in Kütahya, the center of the Turkish pottery industry*. It has a colorful floral design with an uneven texture. A kaftan is a long, front-opening gown in Turkish folk costume. During the Ottoman Empire, kaftans were used as the dress of the sultan, and some were woven with gold thread and other elegant patterns. This is a ceramic figurine in the shape of a kaftan. It is fun to have a pair in different colors. The inside is hollow, so it can be used for displaying flowers or other objects.

[Kutahya Pottery
Kutahya is the center of Turkey's pottery industry, a lush green town lined with tile, tableware, and ceramic workshops.
Tiles and ceramics painted with unique Ottoman expressions were made in Iznik, which is closer to Istanbul and more easily accessible than Kutahya, in the 16th and 17th centuries. Later, in the late 18th century, kilns were built in Kütahya, which produced high-quality clay, and the city became a center of pottery production that continues to this day.
