| Bag Print x Table Runner A hand block print in a subdued color scheme created with natural dyes that easily blends in with your interior design. Even after being washed and faded, this bugle print table runner can be used with great atmosphere. Bagh Group Lint Block prints are mainly produced in the state of Rajasthan in India, and Bagloo village in the suburbs of Jaipur is particularly famous for its Bagloo prints. The villagers have preserved the traditional technique for hundreds of years and continue to produce beautiful cotton cloth. This is a traditional Indian technique in which plates are carved by hand into wood, and patterns are made by stamping each plate with a different color, much like a stamp. The process increases with the number of colors used, and a great deal of time and effort is spent on the process. The blurring, smudging, and pattern deviations seen in bag prints show the warmth of Indian handwork. |

バグループリント
ブロックプリントは、インド・ラジャスタン州が主な産出地で、その中でも特に有名なのが、ジャイプール郊外にある“バグルー村” で作られている「バグループリント」です。村の人々は数百年の長きに渡り伝統技法を守り、今なお美しい木綿布を作り続けています。木に手彫りで版を作り、スタンプの要領で一版一色ずつ押して柄を作っていくインドの伝統技法です。使われている色の数だけ作業の工程が増え、手間と時間が惜しみなく掛けられます。バグループリントに見られるかすれやにじみ、柄のずれには、インドの手仕事の温かみが現れています。
