The sitar is a long instrument, about 1.2 meters in length, with two layers of strings, one at the top and the other at the bottom. The strings are steel strings, and there are no strings below the main string for mead (pulling on the strings to raise the pitch) over several scales. The large bulge at the bottom of the sitar is called the tumba and is made of pumpkin or gourd. This model is a double tumba model with excellent reverberation. It is suitable for those who do not move around much and for those who have a more sedentary style of playing. This sitar is made by PALOMA in Mumbai, a company known for its high quality. インド楽器の代表的存在シタール。シタールは全長1.2Mほどの長い楽器で、弦は上下に二層に分けて張られています。弦の種類はスチール弦で、何音階にも渡るミード(弦を引っ張って音程を上げる事)をするために一番メインの弦の下にはなにも弦は張られていません。シタールの1番下部の大きな膨らんでいる所はトゥンバと呼ばれ、南瓜もしくは瓢箪で作られています。このモデルは残響感に優れたダブルトゥンバモデル。あまり移動しない方や、じっくり腰を据えたプレイスタイル向きです。 このシタールはクオリティのよさで知られるムンバイのPALOMA社製。通常のシタールよりもさらに大きく豪華な装飾で、視覚的にも楽しめる、高級感ある一品です。
■頑丈なケース付き
このシタールには当店売価4万5千円相当のグラスファイバー製のケースが付属しています。グラスファイバー製のケースは通常のケースに比べて高いのですが、やっぱりすごく丈夫!! 通常のハードケースでも保管用としてはあまり問題がないのですが、強い衝撃が加わると壊れてしまいます。
例えば宅急便で送る時や、飛行機に預けるときなど、荷物が投げられる場合がありますが、そうするとシタールは簡単に壊れてしまうのですね。せっかくのシタール、壊れてしまうのはやはり悲しいと思います。ここだけの話、ティラキタから送ったシタールも2割は宅急便会社に壊されてしまっていたのです
