東炊き染の生地は、現代の大量生産から考えると効率の悪い昔ながらの染色機を使用して、染職人の手間をかけ少しずつ染色し天日で乾燥をさせ仕上げています。
そういった昔ながらの、非効率的なモノづくりから、自然な生地の優しい発色とふんわりした柔らかさは生まれます。
また加工の際、熱でシワを伸ばすといった負担をかけず、ストレスを極力減らし、洗濯をしても伸び縮みすることが少なく着ていくうちに体にしっくり馴染みます。
