Description
Vintage Kantha, Kantha embroidery, old cloth, one of a kind [item number] sin557 [Size] 200 x 152 cm (approximate size) [Place of origin] India [Material] 100% Cotton Because this is a handmade item, there may be some distortions or spots where the fabric is a little loose, but as a whole, it is a beautifully finished piece with a high level of skill. [Kantha embroidery Kantha embroidery is a traditional embroidered fabric traditionally made in the Bengal region, which stretches from eastern India to Bangladesh. Traditional embroidery cloths are made of old fabrics, and simple lines and sometimes small motifs are expressed with running stitches (similar to Japanese stitching). The cloth made was used for quilts (to be quilted), shawls, mirror covers, and various other daily utensils. Many of the detailed kantha embroideries of the 19th century are in museum collections, so please use image searches and other methods to view them. The embroidery is done on three or four layers of cotton. Since they were made for ordinary household use, some parts are not in perfect order, giving them a warm, handmade atmosphere. All have been cleaned before export. ⇒ ⇒ Kantha Embroidery List |
