[People are such an important motif that some people say that the amount of work you get depends on whether you can draw people or not. In this special issue, we interviewed 10 illustrators who draw people from various perspectives and in a variety of styles. They talk about their reasons for drawing "people" and the joys and difficulties of their work. Artists featured: Aka, POOL, Hanano Nakajima, Hiroki Nishiyama, Yoshifumi Takeda, Toshikazu Hirai, Chiaki Takasugi, 192, Asaba Marie, and Awai. Conversation: Watase Seizo & Matsuo Hiromi A special dialogue between Seizo Watase and Hiromi Matsuo, who created a collaborative manga in a short-run serialization in this magazine. The two artists talk about how they came to be active as professionals and what they felt through this collaboration. Also included is the third installment of the collaborative manga. Announcement of the 42nd The*Choice Annual Awards The four judges (Seiichi Suzuki, Hikaru Ichinori, Mayu Yukishita, and Keita Mori) gathered to decide the Grand Prize winner for the year 2024. At the roundtable discussion, each juror talked about their criteria for evaluating the works and the original artwork that particularly attracted them. |

イラストレーターにとって重要なモチーフである「人」。「人」を描けるかどうかで仕事の量が変わると言う人がいるほど、大切なモチーフです。今回の特集では、さまざまな視点や多種多様な画風で人物を描くイラストレーター10名に取材しました。それぞれにとっての「人」を描く理由や、その楽しさ、難しさについて語ってもらいます。
