Description
Burundi Mabanza Washing Station The best of Bourbon, nurtured by sustainable agriculture and passion. This product is a specialty coffee from Burundi produced as part of the Akawa Project implemented by Supremo, a Belgian company. The Akawa Project is a progressive project that works with local producers to improve quality and protect the environment, with the goal of sustainable agriculture. The project promotes healthy tree growth and productivity through technical guidance on tree management and pruning of mature trees, as well as distribution of juvenile Bourbon seedlings at the slash-and-burn treatment plants. In addition, agricultural technicians assigned to each region provide cultivation guidance based on **GAP (Good Agricultural Practices)** and focus on developing producer leaders. Efforts are underway to establish a foundation for sustainable coffee cultivation in the region. The harvested coffee cherries are processed as either free-washed or semi-washed, with the free-washed method producing a particularly high quality finish with excellent aroma and body. The beans used are Red Bourbon varieties with a screen size of 15UP. Although the beans are rather small in size, they are characterized by a fruity, sweet aroma, soft acidity, a clean, full body, and a smooth finish. As it cools, a chocolate-like flavor appears, giving it a rich expression that can be enjoyed until the very last sip. Taste Characteristics:. 本商品は、ベルギーのスプレモ社が実施しているアカワプロジェクトの一環として生産された、ブルンジ産スペシャルティコーヒーです。アカワプロジェクトは、持続可能な農業を目指し、地域の生産者と共に品質向上と環境保全に取り組む先進的なプロジェクトです。
このプロジェクトでは、樹木管理や成木の剪定方法に関する技術指導をはじめ、水洗処理場でのブルボン種の幼苗配布を通じて、健全な樹形と生産性向上を推進しています。さらに、地域ごとに配置された農業技師が**GAP(適正農業規範)**に基づいた栽培指導を行い、生産者リーダーの育成にも注力。持続可能なコーヒー栽培の基盤を地域に根付かせる取り組みが進められています。
収穫されたコーヒーチェリーはフリーウォッシュドまたはセミウォッシュドで加工されますが、特にフリーウォッシュド製法は、香りとボディに優れる高品質な仕上がりとなります。
使用される豆はスクリーンサイズ15UPのレッドブルボン種。豆のサイズはやや小ぶりながらも、フルーティーで甘い香り、柔らかい酸味、スッキリとしたコク、なめらかな後味が特長です。冷めるとチョコレートのようなフレーバーが現れ、最後の一口まで豊かな表情を楽しめます。
