[What is an Outlet Book?]  *Outlet books, also called bargain books or free-priced books, are unused new books.
Used books are different from second-hand books such as used books and new used books.  
*In general, new Japanese books are sold at a fixed price based on the resale price maintenance system (resale system) in Japan,
However, only books that have been exempted from the resale price constraint by the publisher's will can be sold at the retailer's price,
However, only books that have been removed from the resale price system by the publisher can be sold at the retailer's own price and be discounted as non-resale books.

*Outlet books are sold in accordance with the industry's voluntary standards to prevent back-flow to publishers and to distinguish them from resale products,
In order to prevent back-flow to publishers and to distinguish them from resale items, BB labels are attached to the front 51 (back cover) of Japanese books and to the bottom (front cover) of Western books,
For Western books, a red line will be drawn on the bottom of the book (the part that will be on the bottom of the book when it is standing up).
(Some non-resale items do not have this treatment.)
