| A tribute to Aldo*Rossi again after 35 years Lemnos Shigeru Uchida Table Clock Dear Vera 2 Hotel Il Palazzo was established in 1989 as a pioneer of designer hotels. Shigeru Uchida directed and designed the interior, and Aldo Rossi, one of the greatest masters of the latter half of the 20th century, designed the architecture. The table clock Dear Vera (1989) is a smaller version of the floor clock Dear Morris, which was designed for the elevator hall of Hotel Il Palazzo. The same clock was previously produced by ALESSI in Italy, and now, 35 years later, it has been faithfully reissued. Dear Vera has a special structure with a wristwatch movement built into its metal body. The reissue of this work, which requires not only knowledge of clocks, but also watchmaking know-how and extremely precise processing techniques, was made possible through the cooperation of three parties: designshop, Uchida Design Laboratory, and clock manufacturer Takata Remunos, with the cooperation of an experienced watch workshop. The original has been meticulously reproduced in every detail. The dial design of this work, which carefully reproduces the original in every detail, adopts the ALESSI version, and the thin bar-shaped indexes give it a modern look. Since 1989, Mr. Uchida's work has become more expressive, resonating with the work and philosophy of Aldo*Rossi. Dear Vera (Dear Vera) is a tribute to Rossi, named after his daughter Vera. It is a glimpse of the bond between the two artists, who were deeply close as rare creators living in the same era. |

1989年、デザイナーズホテルの先駆けとして誕生した「ホテル イル・パラッツォ」。
内田繁氏がディレクションとインテリアデザインを、20世紀後半を代表する巨匠アルド・ロッシが建築を手掛けたほか、田中一光や倉俣史朗、エットレ・ソットサス、ガエタノ・ペシェら、当代を代表するデザイナーが競演しました。
ホテル・イル・パラッツォのエレベーターホールに設置するためにデザインされた床置き型のクロック Dear Morrisを、そのまま小さくしたような卓上クロック Dear Vera（1989）。
過去にはイタリアのALESSI（アレッシィ）社からも製品化された同作を、35年の時を経て忠実に復刻いたしました。
金属製の本体に腕時計用ムーブメントを組み込んだ、特殊な構造を有するDear Vera。
クロックについての知見のみならず、ウォッチ製作のノウハウ、そして極めて精緻な加工技術を必要とする本作の復刻は、経験豊富なウォッチ工房の協力を得て、designshopと内田デザイン研究所、そして、クロックメーカー タカタレムノスの3者で協働することによって実現しました。
細部にわたってオリジナルを丁寧に再現した本作では文字盤のデザインにALESSI版を採用し、細いバー状のインデックスがモダンな印象です。
1989年以降、アルド・ロッシの作品と思想に共鳴するように、内田氏の作品は表現豊かなものへと変化していきます。
Dear Vera（親愛なるヴェラへ）は、ロッシの娘 Veraさんの名前からとったロッシへのオマージュ作。
同じ時代を生きる稀代のクリエイターとして深い親交を結んだ両氏の絆が垣間見えるひとしなです。
