| Vietnamese Bachan ware small dish with rustic and soft colors A series of rustic Bachan ware with a cute retro atmosphere. Each piece is hand-painted with a detailed floral pattern by artisans in Bachan village. The small size of this bowl makes it easy to hold. Bachan ware is a type of ceramics produced in Bachan village in the suburbs of Hanoi in northern Vietnam. It has a long history, and it is said that many ceramics were produced in Bach Chan Village around the 15th century and were exported to Japan during the Muromachi and Edo periods under the name of "Seinan-yaki" (southwest ceramics). Today, Bach Chan is still known as a pottery production area, and there are a number of wholesale stores and workshops in the village. |

バッチャン焼は、ベトナム北部ハノイ郊外のバッチャン村で作られる陶磁器のことです。その歴史は古く、15世紀ごろにはバッチャン村では多くの陶器が製造されていたといわれ、それらは室町〜江戸時代の日本へ「西南焼」の名称で輸出されていました。現在もバッチャン村は陶器の産地として知られており、村にはいくつもの問屋や工房があります。
