This is a 70 cm furoshiki. This design is based on an existing kimono called "KIMONO (Japanese traditional kimono)", to which was added the element of "mise-en-scene", a unique expression popular in the Ebae period, in which something is likened to something else. The plover, a symbol of luck and fertility, flies from the hollyhock, the symbol of the Tokugawa family, to the swallow, which changes its form from bamboo to swallow, symbolizing winning an opportunity. In a wooden Gassho-zukuri factory that has been in Kyoto for 110 years, craftsmen continue to dye each furoshiki carefully, one by one, using the traditional technique of hand-dyeing.
