Description
| *Shizusome Tenugui Hand Towel [Rosanjin GONOMI] Underglaze Dish*. Rosanjin Kitaoji This tenugui hand towel is based on a design of yukata (light cotton kimono) drawn by Kitaoji Rosanjin. The vivid colors carefully dyed by hand by craftsmen are the key point. It is ideal for daily use as well as for gifts. Chusen is a technique of pour-dyeing, which was born in Osaka in the Meiji era (1868-1912). It is characterized by the fact that it is dyed twice, once from the front and once from the back, so it can be dyed both sides of the kimono. Since the entire process is done by hand by craftsmen, each piece is unique. The beautiful texture of gentle blurring and blotting is the charm of Chushizome. |
