Description
By Hisao Ishikawa The Spirit and Structure of the Gathering as Seen in the Villagers "Not Obedient to Authority Using the vast amount of local historical records related to the Okuyama admission lawsuit in Kani County, Gifu Prefecture, this book reveals the reality of the trial in the early Meiji period and the real image of the vibrant autonomy of the village. Rather than short-circuiting individual court decisions and socioeconomic history, we have attempted to conduct legal and social historical research, focusing mainly on the legal awareness and behavior of the parties involved in the trials, and developing the broad research field that remains between the two. In addition to tracing in detail the tenacious battles of the villagers, this project explores the history of the people and re-evaluates the [village as a community of friends] that leads to the Early Modern*Medieval period. |
