メキシコ サカテカス地方 ハイアライト オパール
ガラスのような見た目から「ミュラーズ・オパール」、「グラスオパール」と呼ばれる。
和名は玉滴石(ぎょくてきせき、たまだれいし)といい、オパールの中でも産出が困難で最も希少であることから、ミステリアスストーンともいわれています。
ハイアライトオパールは遊色効果のないコモンオパールに分類されます。
ハイアライトオパールの一番の特徴は、ブラックライトを当てるとネオンカラーを発することです。
全てのハイアライトオパールに蛍光性があるのではなく天然のウランを取り込んで結晶化したものに限りますが、ブラックライトを当てるとグリーンのネオンが楽しめます。
