We interviewed five artists focusing on their monochrome illustrations in black and white. We also asked them about the strength of their works, which are limited in color, and how they express their originality by using a single color. Artists Takuya Kawaguchi, Yachiyo Katsuyama, Jun Tada, Shirome Akitara, killdisco, and Midori Meriyasu [Special Feature: Illustrator's Sketchbook Illustrators' works are basically presented to the world in a completed state. However, they often make a large number of sketches on a daily basis for the purpose of the production process or as a change of pace. In this special issue, we specially showcase the sketchbooks of five illustrators. Enjoy the breathtaking lines of their drawings. Featured artists Mitsuhiro Arita, Hiromi Matsuo, Akiko Miyakoshi, Kashiwai, and nakaban. [Roundtable discussion] Six artists who held the group exhibition [Cho-Agitate*Mujina Ana] at the gallery [Buzzchica] in Tokyo*Ueno in 2024. This is a round-table discussion between the six artists who have deepened their friendship with each other through this group exhibition, which was held without any boundaries between illustrators and artists.
