In our store, the [length (finished length)] of a skirt basically means [the total length of the tailored pau skirt]. Since there will be a difference of about 2 cm when tailoring, we may also indicate the "fabric length" which indicates the "length of the fabric before tailoring" as a rough guide. *What should I do if I am not sure about the length? There is no "fixed length" for the length of a pau skirt. The preferred length usually depends on the teacher of the hālau or hula dance circle. We recommend that you consult with your teacher before purchasing a pau for the first time. If there is no specific length specified by the hālau, please use the image below as a reference to measure your size and choose the length you prefer. Some customers have chosen [-2cm from the measured size because it is shorter and easier to move] or [plus 1cm from the measured size because they want to hide their legs]. With our custom-made pau skirt, you can freely specify the length according to your preference. *About the number of elastics You can choose the number of elastic waistbands from 1 to 4 for our powskirts free of charge. Pau skirt with 3 or 4 elastic is especially popular in Japan. Characteristics of 3 elastic If the skirt is to be used for relaxed dancing, a skirt with three elastics is recommended, as the skirt tends to swing widely. More than 90% of the pau skirt sold in Hawaii is made with three elastic. Characteristics of 4 elastic If you are going to use the skirt for dancing with strenuous movements, we recommend a skirt with four elastics, which wraps around the waist tightly and does not easily slip out of place. Four elastic is also very popular in Japan. However, because the skirt is held firmly around the waist, it is more difficult for the skirt to sway than a skirt with three elastics. *About Elastic Specifications Our pau skirt is sent to you temporarily tied with a 1m long elastic so that you can adjust the waist part. パウスカートショップのオーダーメイドパウは、一枚一枚生地からお仕立てしております。
当店では、基本的にスカートの【丈（仕上がり丈）】とは「お仕立て後のパウスカートの総丈」を指します。
お仕立ての際に約2cm前後の差が生じるため、目安として「お仕立て前の生地の長さ」を示す【生地丈】を併記する場合があります。
■丈の長さで迷ったら？
パウスカートの丈には「決まった長さ」というものはありません。
ハラウやフラダンスサークルの先生によって「好ましい長さ」が異なるのが普通です。
初めてパウをご購入の際は、一度先生にご相談いただくことをおすすめします。
ハラウからの指定が特にない場合は、以下の画像を参考にサイズを測り、お客様のお好みの長さでお選びください。
お客様の中には「短いほうが動きやすいので測ったサイズよりさらにマイナス2cmにした」や「脚を隠したいので測ったサイズにプラス1cmにした」など様々なお客様がいらっしゃるようです。
当店のオーダーメイドパウスカートなら、お好みに合わせて自由に丈をご指定いただくことができます。
■ゴム本数について
当店のパウスカートは、ウエストゴムの本数を1〜4本まで無料でお選びいただけます。
日本では特に3本ゴムと4本ゴムのパウスカートが人気です。
3本ゴムの特徴
ゆったりした踊りに使うのであれば、スカートが大きく揺れやすい3本ゴムのスカートがおすすめです。
ハワイで販売されているパウスカートの9割以上は3本ゴムで作られています。
4本ゴムの特徴
激しい動きの踊りに使うのであれば、しっかり腰を包んでくれてズレにくい4本ゴムのスカートがおすすめです。
日本では4本ゴムもとても人気があります。
ただし、腰にしっかりホールドされる分、3本ゴムよりスカートが揺れにくくなります。
■ゴムの仕様について
当店のパウスカートは、ウエスト部分が調整できるよう、長さ約1mのゴムをお入れして、仮むすびした状態でお送りします。
パウが届きましたら、着用時に腰骨にほどよくフィットするよう、ゴムを調節してご着用ください。
■脇の縫い方について
シングルパウ、フリルパウ、フリルパイピングパウ、パイピングパウ、たて切り替えパウは、
脇の縫い方を以下の2種類からお選びいただけます。
三つ折り仕上げ
ていねいで質の良い、とても美しい仕上がり。
どこから見ても布の切り落とし部分が見えない高級感のある仕上がリがポイント。
ロック仕上げ
三つ折り仕上げと比べて、縫い合わせの厚みが2/3程度になるので、ギャザーがほぼ均等に！
縫い合わせ部分をわかりにくくしたいというかたにおすすめ。
■パウの内側について
通常のシングルパウは、ウエスト内側の折り返し部分が三つ折り仕上げになっています。
