Description
| *Tongs for chapattis These are tongs for chapatti, known locally as chimta. Chimta is also used as the name of a tong-like instrument. Unlike regular tongs, these tongs do not have jagged edges and have a rounded tip, so there is less risk of tearing the chapatti. The length of the tongs is about 23 cm, which is neither too long nor too short, and is just the right size for flipping chapattis. Since these tongs are made in India one by one, they have some scratches and are very rugged compared to the shiny tongs you can generally find in Japan. They have a slightly vintage look to them even though they are brand new, but that is part of what makes these tongs so uniquely Indian. |
