*Traditional mud dyeing and indigo blue

The beautiful blue of indigo is matched with the traditional Indian patterns of this wonderful cloth. The simple pattern of the mud-dyed (dove-printed) fabric and its calm texture will never bore you.

In the mud-dyeing process, a paste of mud, which prevents the fabric from being dyed, is applied to a wood block (wooden plate) with a pattern carved on it and pressed onto the cloth. Then, wheat hulls are sprinkled over the paste and onto the cloth. Then the wheat hulls will stick to the mud and dry in the sun.

Then we soak them in the indigo dye solution, let them dry, and stamp them again with a wood block... This process is repeated over and over again until the indigo blue color is achieved. The history of this mud-dyeing process is said to have started around the 8th century near the village of Akola in India, and it is a process with a long history.

*About the workshop, the craftsmen, and the method of making

Here is an article about the actual workshop where the products are made and the people who make them. We hope you will take a look at it from the link above.

*These products can be used for a variety of purposes.

This cloth has beautiful shades of indigo and blue, and the handmade pattern of wood blocks is also very beautiful. It can be used not only as a handicraft fabric but also as a cover for interior decorations and as a decorative fabric in various places. It can be used for sofa covers, curtains, tablecloths, and many other purposes. The natural texture of the fabric makes it great for use as an original scarf or wall decoration.

*Conveniently measured! This fabric has a calm and tasteful atmosphere that can be used for a variety of purposes depending on your ideas. It is sold in measured quantities, so you can purchase only the amount you need.
