| *Shawl from Anjar Village We have received a beautiful shawl from the village of Azhar in the Katchi region in the western part of Gujarat, India. The Katch region is a place where in summer the temperature exceeds 45 degrees Celsius and sandstorms blow in from the desert, but in winter it is cold and shawls like this one are needed. Anjar village is a very small town, but it is one that we are familiar with because we have relatives in Tirakita who do business there. In the Kach region, there is almost no rainfall throughout the year and the temperature varies greatly, making it difficult to grow crops, and the only crafts that developed were embroidery and weaving. This shawl has a simple design with a uniquely Indian feel, and the subdued colors are just the way the Japanese like it. Since these shawls are machine-woven, they are more reasonably priced than hand-woven shawls and offer a taste of Kachchi designs. *The thin fabric is easy to use. This shawl is woven with acrylic, which is resistant to friction and does not easily lose its shape. Acrylic is a standard fleece material, so it is light, warm and durable. Also, wool may shrink when washed, but acrylic does not, making it easy to handle. *It can be used as a shawl or a lap blanket. A shawl with beautiful colors and detailed embroidery. It can be worn with a simple outfit or used as a lap blanket in your room. It is so beautifully designed that you will enjoy it as a part of your interior design just by leaving it in your room. |

インドのグジャラート州の西部のカッチ地方のアジャール村から素敵なショールが届きました。カッチ地方は夏になると45度を超え砂漠からの砂嵐が吹き荒れるという土地柄ですが、冬になると寒くこのようなショールが必要とされるのだそう。
アンジャール村は非常に小さな町なのですが、ティラキタの取引先の親戚がいるということで、私たちにとっても馴染みのある町のひとつです。
カッチ地方は、1年を通じてほぼ雨は降らず、寒暖差も激しいので、農作物を育てるのも困難で、その中唯一発展したのが刺繍や織物といった手工芸でした。
シンプルなデザインの中にもインドらしい雰囲気が入っているこちらのショールは、落ち着いた色合いで日本人好みのデザインです。こちらの商品は機械織りのため、手織りと比べるとお手頃な価格でカッチ地方のデザインが味わえるショールとなっています。
■薄手の生地で使いやすい
型崩れしづらく摩擦に強いアクリルで織られたショール。アクリルはフリース素材の定番ですので軽くて暖かく丈夫。また、ウールは洗濯の時縮んでしまうことがありますが、アクリルは縮まないので扱いやすいです。
■ショールにもひざ掛けにも
色合いや細かな刺繍が美しいショール。シンプルな服に合わせて羽織ったり、お部屋でひざ掛けとして使用しても◎。
