A Painter Who Loved the Streets of Paris - Lithographs by Takanori Ogisu

Takanori Ogisu (1901-1986) moved to France at the age of 26 and, except for a few years during the war, lived and painted in Paris until his death at the age of 84.

Having gained recognition for his oil paintings, Ogisu began to produce lithographs in his later years.

Lithographs, like oil paintings, do not allow for thick layers of paint, and the subject matter must be replaced by a smaller number of colors in order to create the plate.

Ogisu's lithographs, which are the pinnacle of simplicity, are richly colored and captivate the public.

This catalogue includes 114 color*monochrome lithographs. It is filled with scenes of Paris that Takanori Ogisu loved, such as long slopes and colorful store exteriors.
