| *Easy-to-use size Tarchot are flown on the roofs of houses, temples, mountain tops, mountain passes, bridges, and watersides as prayer flags to ward off evil spirits. These tartchos are a convenient length for use in the home, making them perfect for small decorations. *Talchos with wind reading sutras In Tibet, Nepal, North Indian regions, etc., there is a five-color flag called a tartcho that stands out among the distinctive landscape. ■使いやすいサイズ感
タルチョーは、家の屋根の上、寺院の屋根の上、山頂や峠、橋や水辺などに、魔除けと祈りの旗として掲げられています。
その為、かなり長めに作られていることが多く、家の中などでは長すぎてしまうことも。こちらのタルチョーは、お家で使い勝手の良い長さになっているので、ちょっとした飾り付けにぴったりです。
■風が読経するタルチョ
チベットやネパール、北インド地方等で、その特徴的な風景の中でも一際目を引く、タルチョーと呼ばれる5色の旗があります。
このタルチョーには経文が書かれており、この旗を飾り、それが風になびく度に、読経したことになるのだそうです。
また、五色の順番は青・白・赤・緑・黄の順に決まっており、それぞれが天・風・火・水・地の五大を表現しています。
私たちの目から見ると、カラフルで綺麗な飾り付けに見えるこの旗達にも、やはりきちんとした理由があり、生活の全てを宗教とともに生きている、ヒマラヤの人々の祈りが込められているのでしょう。
このタルチョーは、ネパールで作られたナイロン製の物になりまして、馬の柄と経文が一枚一枚に刷られています。この風の馬が描かれているものを、特にルンタと呼ぶそうです。
