Description
| Microwave 600W for a few minutes. No open flame. Dishwasher safe. Michio Ito was born in the Tono region of Gifu Prefecture and has been a potter in the Mino ware production area for many years. He is certified as a traditional craftsman (Mino ware), and is known for his high degree of perfection and stable technique, especially in daily-use vessels. His style is characterized by a deep understanding of the typical techniques and glaze tones of Mino ware, but without resorting to excessive decoration, and with a belief in creating vessels that blend naturally into the user's daily life. He places great importance on the texture of the clay, the appearance of the glaze, and the subtle differences in expression caused by firing, giving each piece the warmth that only handmade work can provide. With a shape design that emphasizes practicality at the dining table and firing techniques backed by many years of experience, the pottery has earned a high reputation as long-lasting tableware for both commercial and home use. While ensuring the continuation of the Mino ware tradition, the artist continues to produce vessels that are in tune with modern life. |
