Description
| [ natural stones power stone accessories fashion accessories ] Izumo jasper is a domestic jasper produced in the Izumo region of Shimane Prefecture (mainly around Mt. Hanasen), and almost no other jasper of the same quality and type has been found in other areas. It is completely "Izumo only" stone. Izumo jasper was used as a material for kagatama*, tubular beads*, and ritual implements from the Yayoi period to the Kofun period, and is deeply connected with the mythology of Izumo and ancient rituals. In particular, jasper from Mt. Hanasen has been excavated from archaeological sites all over Japan, and was one of the most important sacred stones in Japan at that time. Currently, mining at Mt. Hwasien is banned* and virtually impossible, and the supply of new raw stones has been completely cut off. The Izumo jasper that is available in the market is limited to the inventory that has been mined and processed in the past, and that has been handed down from old families and temples and shrines. These are rarely seen in general circulation, partly because they have a value close to that of cultural assets. **************** *Beads *strands / *Carved beads *grains *materials *parts / *display *Bracelets / *Rings *Necklaces / *Pendant tops *Straps / *Earrings *Ornaments / *Minerals ************ |
