飛鳥桜水晶（あすかさくらすいしょう）
飛鳥時代(西暦592年から710年)のこの地には宮都が置かれ、豪族の連合政権による統一国家としてまとまりつつありました。この時代は、推古天皇のもと聖徳太子や蘇我氏が、冠位十二階や十七条憲法を制定し、日本が大きく変化した時でした。現在の宇陀市はその古代飛鳥の一部であり、中国の隋や唐の先進技術、文化を取り入れながら発展してきました。飛鳥桜水晶は、今も存在する樹齢300年の大きな枝垂れ桜の近くで産出され、昔は六角柱も採れたそうです。鉄分を含んだリモナイト水晶も産出されますが、今はその桜近くの洞穴が崩れてしまい、入手することはできません。
