*Nambu Tetsubin
Nambu ironware is a traditional handicraft made in Morioka City and Oshu City in Iwate Prefecture.
It was born out of the tea ceremony that was popular among feudal lords during the Edo period (1603-1868).

*Boiling water in an iron kettle mellows the taste.
It has long been said that "water boiled in an iron kettle tastes good.
This is because the minerals contained in the water adhere to the inside of the tetsubin and are removed.
Boiling water in an iron kettle removes the smell of chalky water, and the water is transformed into white water with a mellow taste and iron content.
It is reborn as a mild tasting, iron-rich white water.
