HUMEAU-BEAUPREAU（ウモ・ボープロー）社、1947年、フランス・ブルターニュ地方の中心都市ナント郊外で創業。 当初はスリッパのソールに使う加硫ゴムの生産が主だったが、需要増に押され農業、漁業用のラバーシューズ、ラバーブーツも生産するようになる。 2000年になると競合社のSARRAIZIENNE社をブランドごと買取し、現在ではラバー系フットウエア8ブランドを所有、年間350万足の生産を誇る。 大企業に成長しながらも、大量生産で数だけ販売して売り逃げるのではく、デザイン性を重視してヨーロッパ各国のデザイナーズブランドのOEMも積極的に手掛け、自社でもデザインチームを保有しているのはいかにもフランスらしい企業である。 細かく、少量のオーダーにも快く応じてくれるのは、創業者のボープロー氏が、“戦後の混乱の中で、履くものもなくさまよっている人々のために”という設立当初のの社風を今も受け継いでいるからという。 ちなみに主力ブランドのUMOは創業地HUMEAUのフランス語の音読みである。
