| These leather sandals are made in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They are crafted from soft leather sourced from Italy and have received high praise for being soft and comfortable against the skin. イタリアはヴェローナにオフィスを構えるMARCHESINI社。そこのメインブランドがMARKOである。デザイン、素材はすべてイタリアから発信するものの、価格の安定化を求めて隣国の旧ユーゴスラビア、ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナでの生産に特化する。ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナというと紛争のイメージが強いが、90年代終わりに紛争が終了してからの復興は目を見張るものがあり、そのうえ昔から繊維縫製業の工場が多いことで知られており、安い労働力と確かな製造技術を求めて昨今西欧からの製造依頼が多いという。
