Description
| *Imported Directly from the U.S.* Coca-Cola Metal Sign Plate *Made in the USA* The bright red Coca-Cola logo, the classic green bottle, and a mysterious boy peeking out from the side of the bottle with a [grin]... Who is this guy!? (lol) This vintage-style metal sign is inspired by classic American Coca-Cola advertisements. Featuring the text “[5¢]” and “[Delicious Refreshing IN BOTTLES],” its OLD AMERICAN design evokes the era when you could get a Coke for 5 cents. Although brand new, the surface and edges have been given a vintage finish that replicates rust and grime, creating a worn-out look as if it had been hanging in a garage for decades. And this white-haired boy is none other than [Sprite Boy]. He is a historic character who appeared in Coca-Cola advertisements in the 1940s and was even used in ads to explain that [Coca-Cola] and its nickname [Coke] refer to the same drink. He was created by Haddon Sundblom, the artist famous for drawing the Coca-Cola Santa. By the way, despite the name [Sprite Boy], he’s completely different from the lemon-lime soda called Sprite. This little boy actually came first! His name comes from “sprite” (meaning “fairy” or “imp”), and the soda called Sprite didn’t appear until much later. He wears a bottle cap on his head, has white hair and red cheeks, and sports an indescribably mischievous expression. He’s a little eerie. But that’s part of his charm (lol). This is a niche, old-school piece I’d recommend to anyone who finds the standard Coca-Cola signs a bit underwhelming! With mounting holes in each corner, it’s perfect for wall displays in garages, shops, American-style rooms, bars, kitchens, and more. |
