Description
| [Tableware, Japanese Tableware, Bowls, Tonsui, Stylish, Commercial Use, Made in Japan] A “tonsui” is a small bowl with a handle, while the handle-less version, known as a “gyokuwari,” is used for cracking eggs for sukiyaki or for serving portions of hot pot dishes and holding tempura dipping sauce. The gyokuwari can also be used as a general-purpose small bowl. “Reinforced clay” is created by adding proprietary reinforcing particles to pottery clay* or porcelain clay. The raw materials are finely ground to increase density and remove large particles that could cause breakage. Additionally, the expansion rates of the body and glaze are adjusted during firing. It has 1.5 to 2 times the flexural strength of standard clay. |
