| Microwave it and take it out. When you take it out, [Ouch!]... ... Isn't that a little bit disconcerting? Have you ever experienced that "auch! When you take it out of the microwave after microwaving it, don't you have an experience of that? That's a very serious dent, isn't it? You don't have to go through that kind of tragedy(?). I would like to introduce you to a "magic cup," as it is commonly called, that is unrelated to such tragedies(?). Today, I would like to introduce a Hasami-ware cup called "Keepo Cup". It is a ceramic cup made by the technique of a famous potter named Seizan, and the combination of Hasamiyaki tradition and revolutionary structure is wonderful. First of all, the cup does not get hot. The "double-layered hollow structure" is adopted to prevent the "tragedy of lentil cooking" mentioned at the beginning of this article. It is easy to understand if you look at the cross-sectional view from the side like this. The temperature of the drink inside is not easily transferred to the outside. The container itself does not get hot, and only the liquid inside is kept hot. And second, it keeps heat and cold. The same construction as a thermos bottle keeps hot food hot for a long time and cold food cold for a long time. Quite a pleasure all year round, season after season! No condensation means your desk top won't get soggy, and you don't even need a coaster. Incidentally, the name "Keepo" is derived from the coined words Keep (to keep warm*cold) & Power (to keep strong). Third and last, there's a water line. So there are two lines on the inside that serve as a guide for 6:4 and 4:6 for when you want to split alcohol with water (or hot water). This is convenient! Aside from the functionality, what I recommend most is actually the appearance. I think the first thing that catches the eye is the [color]. The smooth texture unique to porcelain, the moderate weight that fits comfortably in your hand, and of course, the color are all very important. Many people fall in love at first sight with the beautiful blue of navy and sky blue, the warmth of pink and white, and the freshness of light green. 取り出すときの「あちっ!!」
...あれって地味にへこみません？
電子レンジでチンしたあと、取り出すときに「あちっ！」ってなった経験ありませんか？
あれ、地味にへこむんですよね。
そんな悲劇（？）とは無縁の通称、"魔法のカップ"をご紹介したいと思います。
今日ご紹介したいのは波佐見焼のうつわ「キーポカップ」。
清山という有名な窯元さんの技術で作られた陶器カップなのですが波佐見焼の伝統と、画期的な構造の合わせ技がすばらしい。
まず、うつわが熱くならない。冒頭で触れた『レンチンの悲劇』を引き起こさないよう"中空二重構造"という仕組みを採用してます。
こうやって横から断面図を見たらわかりやすいですよね〜
中の飲み物の温度が外に伝わりにくいから
うつわ自体が熱くならずに、ちゃんと中の液体だけがアツアツの状態に。
そして2つめ、保温＆保冷効果
魔法瓶と同じつくりなので、温かいものは長く温かいまま、冷たいものは長く冷たい。
一年中、季節ごとにかなり嬉しい！
結露しないから机の上が水浸しにならない、コースターいらずなデキる奴なのです。
ちなみにこの「キーポ」という名前はKeep（保温・保冷を保つ）＆Power（＝力）という造語から由来しています。
最後に3つめ、水割り線が入ってる
アルコールを水割り（もしくはお湯割り）するときのために6:4、4:6の目安になる2本のラインが内側に入っているわけです。
これは便利ですよー。
機能性はもちろんですが、一番オススメしたいのは実は見た目。
最初に目を惹くのが、この「色」だと思います。
磁器特有のつるっとした手触り、手に馴染む程よい重さはもちろんやっぱり色もすごく大事だなと思うわけです。
