Description
It is molded and unglazed using a red clay mold. Then, decorative clay is applied by hand brush in a grid pattern, and after a second unglazed firing, a transparent matte glaze is applied and the vessel is fired. The texture of these vessels is very important. The top part of the rounded dough made with a power rocro is shaved to give it a characteristic shape, and then it is bent by hand to form an oval shape. The black dots on the surface are iron powder and iron contained in the clay, which melt during the firing process and appear on the surface. This iron powder creates a nice texture. Recommended as a gift. [AWASAKA] Minoyaki ware that combines the authenticity, tradition, and modern design of Japan-born Mino ware with handmade craftsmanship. The roots of Mino ware go back to the Jomon and Yayoi periods, and the pottery culture represented by Shino and Oribe blossomed in the Azuchi-Momoyama period. Among all the kilns in Japan, Mino ware has a long history and has been loved by tea masters such as Sen no Rikyu and Furuta Oribe, as well as artists such as Rosanjin. AWASAKA's gift selection of Japanese tableware is all made in Japan, with a focus on Mino ware. |
