Description
| [The Marine Corps was considered a subordinate organization of the Navy until the 1930s, and its budget and size were drastically reduced during peacetime. When the war in the Pacific began, the Marine Corps began to procure its own equipment, which until then had been hand-me-downs from the Army and Navy, and the P41 jacket was adopted in 1941 as a result. Three years later, the P-44 was adopted as the successor to the P-41 jacket, but the P-41 jacket was not as popular as the P-44, perhaps because of its lower cost. After the war, it was re-adopted as the P47, and some of the inventory was used until the 1960s, perhaps because of its lower cost or because the P44's inner pocket was unpopular. Our products are made of the P-41's characteristic cedar twill fabric, which was produced by special order, and the buttons and prints with the USMC stamp are also faithfully reproduced based on the real thing.
