Nakayoshi Kokeshi are cute kokeshi characters based on the traditional kokeshi dolls of the Tohoku region. The Nakayoshi Kokeshi, mainly through stationery and sundry goods, convey the culture of the Tohoku region and good Japanese culture, including traditional games and daily life.

This notepad [Nakayoshi Kokeshi Nishimonai Bon Odori] was created to commemorate the Tohoku Rokkon Festival. The Nishimonai Bon Dance in Akita Prefecture is said to have started about 700 years ago. On August 16, when the sun sets over the mountains of Izuwa to send off the ancestral spirits, Yose-daiko (drum) music sounds in Nishimonai, Hago Town, and dressed-up children perform Ondo dance on the bonfire-lit Honmachi Street, opening the three-day Bon Dance.
