| Honjin maki-e (cowhide maki-e): Among the Shosoin treasures, there is a technique of urushi-hide (leather coated with lacquer). Inden leather, which is tanned sheep*deerskin with detailed patterns painted with lacquer, is another technique that uses leather and lacquer in the same way. In this way, leather and lacquerware have a long history of intertwining since ancient times. This is a product with excellent durability, made by our original special processing using lacquer ware technique [Kin Makie] on leather. We hope you will use this product for a long time. *Please use a commercially available replacement lead for Parker. |
