Description
[Craftsman House 71] Hand-painted teacups made at a kiln in Gifu Prefecture. The words [Thank you for everything] express the thoughts of the creator. It is a perfect gift for Mother's Day, Father's Day, Respect-for-Senior-Citizens Day, etc. *Minoyaki Mino ware has a long history, dating back to more than 1,300 years ago. At first, Sue ware techniques were introduced from the Korean peninsula. In the Heian period (10th century), pottery with an ash glaze known as shirashi (white porcelain) began to be fired. Shirashi was an improved version of Sue ware with a glaze. From this time, the number of kilns increased and the area became a full-fledged pottery production area. From the Azuchi-Momoyama period to the beginning of the Edo period, pottery reflecting the tastes of tea masters was produced along with the popularity of the tea ceremony. |
