Description
| *Kijihiki salad bowls are made using the "yosegi-zaiku" technique, which has been handed down from the Edo period in Odawara, Kanagawa Prefecture. *Each piece is made by hand by skilled craftsmen using the latest painting methods to protect the wood surface and an exclusive gluing technique that allows a single piece of marquetry to be processed into the shape of a vessel. *This is very different from foreign manufacturing methods that waste more wood by hollowing out a block of wood. These are made with the enthusiasm and skill of craftsmen who do not want to waste precious natural wood. |
