| Carved from carefully selected fine wood Ballpoint pen with beautiful wood grain walnut/walnut [Features] High-quality material that is counted as one of the four most famous woods for European furniture. (The other three are oak, mahogany, and ash.) The grain is somewhat indistinct. It has a warm grayish-brown color with a slight purplish tinge (individual differences exist). It is strong and tenacious, lightweight, and easy to work as it is one of the softest hardwoods. It has a glossy appearance, which becomes more attractive with age and the influence of tannins. A typical U.S. timber. [Uses.] One of the finest woods for furniture because of its strength, tenacity, low distortion, and ease of processing. Used for crafts, miscellaneous goods, and interior materials such as flooring and doors. Most rifle buttstocks (grips) are made of walnut. |

胡桃/ウォールナット
＜特徴＞
ヨーロッパ家具四大銘木の一つとして数えられる良質素材。（残り三つは、オーク、マホガニー、アッシュ）
木目はやや不明瞭。少し紫かかった灰褐色の暖かみのある色をしており（個体差あり）
強度と粘りが高く軽量で、広葉樹としては柔かい部類のため加工は容易。
艶もあり、経年変化とタンニンの影響でより味わい深くなる。
米国産材の代表格。
＜用途＞
強度と粘りがあり狂いも少なく、加工が容易なため家具としては最上級の材の一つ。
工芸用、雑貨、フローリングやドアと言った内装材。
また、ライフルの銃床（グリップ）のほとんどがウォールナットを使用する。
