A Japanese summer tradition - Edo Fu-ring In the mid-Edo period, glass wind chimes were introduced to Edo by beadlo makers from Nagasaki. At that time, glass products were extremely valuable. Later, wholesalers in Edo mastered the technique, and glass wind-bells became popular among common people throughout Edo. Shinohara Fu-ring Honpo, founded in 1914, named this product "Edo Fu-ring" based on literature. This product is made one by one by hand at the same workshop. *This product is handmade by craftsmen. 一点一点ガラスを吹いて成形し、内側から手で絵付けをしています。鳴り口の部分がキザキザなのは、音色を良くするための工夫です。
豊年を祈り、疫病退治・悪魔祓いとして舞う獅子舞(ししまい)をデザインした風鈴です。

江戸時代中期、長崎よりビードロ師がガラス風鈴を江戸に伝えました。当時、ガラス製品は非常に貴重なものでだったそうです。その後、江戸の問屋が技術を習得し、江戸中の庶民にもガラス風鈴が親しまれるようになりました。
創業大正四年 篠原風鈴本舗が文献にもとづき名付けた「江戸風鈴」。本製品は同工房で一点一点手作業で作られています。
