世界遺産である鹿児島県屋久島に自生し、精霊が宿るといわれる樹齢千年以上の屋久杉。
細かく美しい木目や独特の香りが特徴で、強い浄化・殺菌作用は心身を整えるといわれ、古来より長寿・開運・厄除けの象徴とされてきました。
二〇〇一年から伐採が禁止されている為、自然倒木した土埋木を使用しておりますが、近年この土埋木も枯渇間近といわれ、その希少性は高まっています。
