古くは中国の宋・元・明から伝来し、その異国的な珍しさと美しさで茶人に愛好されました。

宝尽くし（たからづくし）:
福徳を招来するものとして、縁起のいいモチーフを集めた紋様です。近くで見ると、織りによる細かな凹凸が立体感のある生地です。「けし炭」色の麻と組み合わした生地は、独特の色使いがアクセントに。「さび朱」色の麻と組み合わした生地は、単色で金糸の美しさが際立ちます。
